Hazing in colleges across the US

Post a Problem
Hazing is defined as any time a student joining, or involved with, a group is humiliated or abused. It is considered hazing whether or not the person agrees to participate. Hazing can result in physical and psychological harm, and death.

A study of more that 53 colleges and universities, including interviews with 300+ students from 18 of those institutions showed that 55% of college students are involved in clubs, teams, and organizations experience hazing. Hazing is present beyond just varsity athletics and Greek-letter organizations. It includes dangerous activities such as excessive alcohol consumption, humiliation, isolation, sleep- deprivation, and sex acts. In many cases, photos are posted on web sites.
